5 - New Shocks & New Suspension Air Bags
The morning after arriving back into St. Augustine with Winnefred, we brought her to an RV/Truck repair place to get new shocks. The shocks that were on her were likely original and completely non-functioning. They were able to put new shocks on her, but the new air bags needed to be specially ordered. These are not safety-type airbags that you find in a car, these are sort of air shock absorber thingies. They go over the rear axle to help absorb shocks and impacts. These were not original equipment on our RV; however, a previous owner had them installed. They were dry rotted and not doing anything to help the ride so we opted to replace them.

Finally, with the new shocks and new airbags, she drove really well and I actually attempted to drive her. Not a bad ride at all, I was kinda surprised how easy she was to drive. Visibility out the back wasn't so great though.

Below is a photo of one of the old air bags. You can see the tear down the left side of it. Also, you can see the back of the brand new fuel tank the seller installed before putting her up for sale.
