Our Elk Visitors

We knew there were freezing temps heading our way. We took advantage of 39F temps to hook up our sewer hose and water. We topped up our water, took a couple of hot showers and emptied our tanks. Adam got a run in while there was a lull in the snow. We did all of that and disconnected the water again and sewer. We've been warned about what can happen in below freezing temps to water and sewer connections (think "poop-cicles").

We were hanging out in the RV, watching dvd's, when these interlopers strolled by:

Female Elk and a Few babies

the Park Rangers told us its very rare to see a male elk

We drove to the canyon rim and went for a walk. I don't think it's possible to get sick of looking at the canyon. It's always changing. Colors, light, constantly in motion. It was about 37F. A little chilly.

We were going to use our oven for the first time. I dont think it's ever been used so there was no reason to think it might not work. First of all, there was a ton of dust in it. Yep, dust. Most likely from our 2000 miles of unpaved roads on our Arctic Circle adventure. Adam cleaned it up:

The oven worked flawlessly! We baked some chicken and a bunch of fresh asparagus. Delicious!!!

We watched a few dvd's and fell soundly asleep.
