Welcome to New Mexico

As I'm writing this, we just passed through Roswell, NM, and Adam is driving. We're hoping to reach the Petrified Forest National Park.

This was our route yesterday. Click on the image above to open it in Google Maps

We drove through Louisiana and half of Texas.

I took this just outside of Shreveport

I believe they call Eastern Texas "Hill Country." We also stopped at a Buc-ees here in Texas. These stores are huge!

Buc-ees
We picked up our favorite canned coffee and "pickled quail eggs" from Buc-ees.
By the way, .the pickled quail eggs were delish!

We ended up in a Walmart parking lot in Sweetwater, TX. It was a little loud with the trucks on the highway so close by, but we both fell asleep quickly. The temps were slightly warmer, it only went down to 59F inside the RV. We were both very warm and snug in our comfy bed.

We woke up at 6:30am and we were on the road by 7am. First, Adam checked the oil:

The oil was fine and everything seems fine, mechanically.

Wind farms everywhere

This was taken at around 10am. It's dark because of the dust! Very windy and blowing the dust everywhere.

New Mexico was different. It was still windy, but not as much dust to blow around. Desert country. Cacti everywhere. No palm trees :-)

I drove to Roswell, NM. A five hour drive. Roswell wasn't too interesting. No aliens. No UFO's.

This evening we hope to stay in an RV park near the Petrified Forest.
More soon!
