Tuesday, August 30, 2022, Still in Danbury... But Made it to Maine This Evening!

*First of all, I want to apologize for the lapse with our satellite tracker. We left it in the RV without a charge and it died. I didn't realize it until a few days later :-(

**Also, sorry for the lack of daily post! 2 weeks before we left St Augustine, I did a ton of research to find a portable hot spot with a lot of data so we could have Internet while in Canada. Cricket was the best deal, $100 for 100gb of data! So I bought the hot spot, I activated it and it worked really well, UNTIL WE CROSSED THE CANADIAN BORDER!!! My plan was to catch up with posts then. After an hour or so of trying to troubleshoot, and a half hour on the phone with Cricket. NOOOOO!!!! my "device" does not work in Canada!!!!! UGH!!!

So I'm in my cousin Brenda's living room, trying to catch up now :-(

We checked out of our hotel, with a late checkout, at 12:30pm and headed for the RV. Nope, not ready, no parts yet. They were being overnighted at supposed to arrive Tuesday, "first thing."

Oh well, another night in Danbury. We checked into a hotel right beside the repair shop for the night. We had an uneventful night, stayed in and went to bed early anticipating an early start.

9am, 10am and 11am roll by... still no word from the repair place. We asked for a late check out again, and we left the hotel by 12:30pm. We headed to the repair shop, they had the parts and were going to start after lunch. Long story short, we headed out of Danbury at 3:30pm.

Traffic was pretty heavy, and we made our way to a "rest area" off the Interstate. It was us, one other RV and a bunch of tractor trailers with their generators running. We turned on our generator too and, subsequently, our AC. We gave our batteries a good charge too with our generator. We woke up early to the sound of rain. Ugh. Adam had covered our generator with a big contractor bag, carefully only covering the important parts while leaving the exhaust and air intake uncovered.

We had made it to Maine! yay!

Us in the rest area with the big rigs in Kinebunk, ME, right off I95

We left Danbury with perfect timing to hit rush hour in Boston
