Truth or Consequences, NM

We made it to our destination at Truth or Consequences, NM.  We made a reservation at Riverbend Hot Springs for their RV park. Our route since leaving the Grand Canyon: Click above to open in Google Maps We started our day in Holbrook, AZ. We had a great breakfast: After breakfast, we headed over the Petrified Forest National Park . It's sort of a "drive thru" park. You drive the 26 miles through the park. There are lots of scenic overlooks to take pictures and trails to hike if you want. Or, you can just stay in your car and watch the scenery go by. REALLY cool scenery! From the Petrified Park, we continued south and east. It started snowing again, but the temperature was just barely above freezing so it wasn't sticking to the roads at all.  Then I received a "wind warning" on my phone. Winds gusting up to 50mph! Our poor RV is very vulnerable to wind. Gusty wind is really scary. Adam just put on our hazard lights and slowed down a lot. Beautiful scenery i

We Left Grand Canyon a Day Early

We decided to leave a day early because of the weather. We don't have snow tires, and I don't think she handles well in the snow. We were forecast to have about 3 hours above freezing today. With snow and sleet throughout the day. As soon as the temperature rose above freezing, we took off. Our destination, only 3 hours away. We aimed for just outside of the Petrified Forest National Park. We drove to the General Store inside the park before we left We took a last look an the canyon. Snow and mist clouded our view We couldn't see much at all We left the park and headed south, all the while it was snowing. It was not sticking to the roads though. It started snowing harder as we got to Williams, AZ., an hour south. I wanted to stop but Adam thought the interstate would be fine. It was. The snow seemed to be getting worse. Eventually, they ended up closing this highway after we had passed through it.  The snow stopped and the roads improved the further east we got. It finally

March 12, 2021 This is what we woke up to this morning: The doggies got cold despite their jackets. We warmed them up though: We walked over to the Market. A very nice walk. Unbelievable how I was affected by the altitude. My legs just had a hard time moving! 6700 ft, v. sea level Path to the Market in Grand Canyon The General Store at the Grand Canyon, pretty much everything you need. We drove over to Mather Point again to see the snow in the canyon. You can see where the snow stops and rain begins looking at the side of the canyon. More later!
